The Indoctrination Education Agenda
By Victor Thorn
On July 16, 2013, avowed communist Nelson Mandela stated at a public forum in Johannesburg, South Africa: “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” It’s hardly ironic that Mandela, imprisoned for 27 years after being convicted of multiple terrorist activities in South Africa, would equate education with violence.
This same advocacy is being used in our public school systems by global warming advocates pushing so-called environmental education.
For more insight on this, on March 25, AMERICAN FREE PRESS spoke with Holly Swanson, author of Training for Treason: The Harmful Agenda Behind Education for Sustainability and founding director of We Choose Freedom.
To ensure that her message isn’t misconstrued, Ms. Swanson told AFP: “We all care about nature, animals, and the environment. They all need to be protected. Yet there’s a difference between taking sound steps toward a healthy environment and being coerced into a global warming agenda and communism.”
In light of this, Ms. Swanson warned: “Global warming proponents are ratcheting up fear of environmental ruin in an attempt to brainwash and scare children into adopting the beliefs of their movement. Students are being pressured into submitting to a single mindset, not free thought. This education model is exactly the same as those utilized in communist countries.”
Ms. Swanson expanded on this idea.
“The real danger at hand is that environmental literacy really means political indoctrination,” she said. “It’s the arm of a political movement meant to turn children against free enterprise, private property rights, anti-individual success, and the acceptance of a globalist viewpoint. Barack Obama said that he wanted to fundamentally transform America. Education is part of that plan to change society culturally, religiously, socially, politically, and economically. Their agenda involves erasing and eliminating traditional values.”
Along these same lines, Ms. Swanson continued: “The purpose of public education isn’t political activism. However, the global warming crowd is embedding ideas and scaring impressionable minds into believing that they’re committing a crime if their goals aren’t adopted. Essentially, children are being taught how to go out and vote. Since 89% of future voters attend public schools, it’s not surprising that education is being misused by these movements as an indoctrination program.”
Making a distinction, Ms. Swanson sought to clarify environmentalism: “In the beginning, the green movement started out as an environmental cause to take care of the land and water. Now it’s a political movement to take control of the land and water. There’s a major discrepancy at play here, and inside classrooms, children are being bombarded with an onslaught of propaganda. If they don’t go along with the agenda, they’re in fear of receiving bad grades on papers or not even graduating. Every subject, including math and English, is being used to push global warming. They’re all tools to embed a political ideology.”
In closing, Ms. Swanson stressed: “Most Americans don’t realize the meaning and purpose of ‘environmental education.’ After being taught this curriculum from pre-kindergarten to high school, we’re going to see generations of graduates ready to vote for one-party rule. Even Arne Duncan, Obama’s former education secretary, penned a letter stating that he’d do everything in his power to push this agenda.”
